Frequently asked questions
What should I wear for a Thai massage?
Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended. Traditional Thai massage is performed fully clothed without the use of oils, but oil massages will require partial undressing with proper draping to ensure privacy and comfort.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, appointments are recommended to ensure availability. Walk-ins may be accepted if there is space, but booking ahead is the best way to secure your preferred time.
Is Thai massage painful?
Thai massage can involve deep pressure and stretching, but it should never feel painful. Communication is key — feel free to let the practitioner know if you'd like lighter or firmer pressure.
Is Thai massage safe for everyone?
While Thai massage is generally safe, it may not be suitable for those with certain medical conditions (e.g., recent surgeries, pregnancy, or severe joint issues). Please consult your doctor or inform us of any concerns before your session.
Can I take a shower after the massage?
It’s generally not necessary to shower right away, especially after an oil massage, as the oils used are beneficial for the skin. However, if you prefer to rinse off, please feel free to do so at home after your session.
Are your services covered by insurance?
The services are not provided by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and are therefore not eligible for insurance reimbursement under most extended health care plans.
However, all treatments are performed by a Certified Thai Massage Practitioner, who is a member of the Traditional Thai Massage Association of Ontario, a professional body recognized by the City of Toronto.
